3 Ways Money Blocks Sabotage Your Business

mary_billerbeckWomen entrepreneurs often tell me that they’re overworked, overwhelmed and don’t know how to make more money in their business.  These are common issues which stem from money blocks and they can really stress you out, keep you from making the money you desire and ultimately sabotage your business.  Read on for tips and solutions to help you deal with these money blocks.

Money Block #1 – Overwhelm and Burnout

Overwhelm and burnout can be big saboteurs of your business.   Do you ever feel like you’re working really hard trying to help a lot of clients but barely have time to take a breath or focus on the other pieces of your business?  Plus, all that hard work is not bringing in much money or you’re not really seeing an increase in your income for the amount of work you’re doing.

Overwhelm and burnout is a symptom of low self-value and low self-worth which manifests itself through not charging what you’re worth and giving away your time.   However, when you deal with your money blocks and allow yourself to charge what you’re worth and make great money, it gives you the space, energy and ability to create different levels of programs and products to serve more people.

I’ve certainly experienced this.  For example, when I was doing a lot of hourly one-on-one coaching, I definitely wasn’t charging enough, my days were so booked that I hardly had time eat, and I couldn’t find the time to work on the other aspects of my business.  To make things worse, I wasn’t really making that much more money in relation to all the work I was doing.  I was totally overworking, undercharging, overwhelmed and stressed out.

I resolved this problem by changing my price structure and started charging what I was worth.  I also began creating products and services at different price levels.  So, if someone contacts me now and can’t financially commit to a full program, they can purchase an entry level service or product.

The takeaway here is that if you charge what you’re worth, you will have the time and energy to create services and products that can help more people.

Money Block #2 – Attracting the Wrong Type of Client

The second way money blocks can sabotage your business is that you’re attracting the wrong type of client; you know the client who is always late or doesn’t show up at all, doesn’t take responsibility and downright stresses you out.

We’ve all been there haven’t we?  I know I have.   We feel desperate for money and we take on a client that we know we shouldn’t have.  But we tell ourselves, just this one time…I really need the money or it won’t be that bad.  And then you regret it…in a big way.

However, when you realize that you can choose who you want to work with; it makes all the difference in the world.  When you become crystal clear about who you want to (and don’t want to) work with and always charge what you’re worth, you are making a statement that you value yourself, your time and your business which will in turn attract your ideal clients.  These are the clients who really value and respect your time, your energy and your business and they will do what it takes to achieve the results they want.

Money Block #3 – Not Living the Life you Want

When you stress out about money or live in a scarcity mindset it blocks you from receiving money for what you do and living in abundance.  And when you’re stressed out about money you’re not able to live the kind of life that you want.

Money stress limits your belief and ability to create a rich and beautiful life of freedom, adventure and abundance.   However, when you’re clear about charging what you’re worth and then getting it, you leave the scarcity mindset behind and open your life and you energy to receiving the richness and abundance that life has to offer.

Identifying and dealing with your money blocks will help you charge what you’re worth, create a profitable business you love and live the life of your dreams.  It’s a new year and the perfect time to what you want in your business and in your life.
